Chawlichi Aamti/black eyed beans curry..is a typical maharastrian dish..
Ingredients
1 cup black eyed beans/chawli soaked in water overnight
1 small potato
11/2 cup water
4 tbsp fresh grated coconut
4-5 garlic cloves
1/2" cinnamon stick
1 big onion thinly sliced
1 small onion finely chopped
1tbsp malwani masala
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt as per taste.
1 tbsp oil
Method:-
Wash and cut the potato into big cubes without peeling it..soak it in water and keep.
Take a vessel..add soaked beans..finely chopped onion.., turmeric, garam masala, malwani masala, oil , salt.
Mix everything together and add 1 and half cup water .put the vessel on flame..
(U can pressure cook it in 3 whistles.
Roast coconut , thinly sliced onion, garlic , cinnamon..till light brown in colour.
Cool the mixture and grind till smooth paste.
When the beans and potato are cooked completely. .add this grinded paste , and give a boil.
Put of the flame.
Serve hot with Rice.
