Bharlele Kande wa Dhobli mirchi masala
(stuffed onion and capsicum masala).This is maharastrians traditional recipe..which I learned from my grandmother .she used to stuff ivy gourd ..ladies fingers and many more using onion stuffing masala...
Ingredients:-
4 Small medium sized onions
2 Small medium sized capsicum
1 big boiled potato
Salt as per taste
3-4 tbsp oil.
For the masala:-
1tbsp ginger garlic minced
1 tsp jaggery
1/2 tsp turmeric
1tbsp malwani masala
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 cup fresh grated coconut
1 tbsp roasted peanuts powder
Less than 1/2" cinnamon
For onion stuffing:-
amchur powder/mango powder
Red chilli powder
Turmeric
Salt as per taste
Peanut powder
For capsicum stuffing:-
Mashed potato
Finely chopped onion
And all the stuffing masala of onion
Method:-
1) Remove onion skin and cut it bit in cross manner on the top.
2) Wash capsicum and cut it half ..and remove out all seeds.
Grind Masala:-
Roast coconut, cinnamon, onion and garlic .
When the mixture is cooled add ginger garlic,garam masala ..malwani masala to this.and grind till bit coarse paste.add jaggery and salt to this.
Stuff the onion and capsicum with above mentioned masala and keep aside.
Finally, take a wide spread kadhai .Pour in oil and add all the grinded paste .Add salt to this. Mix well..
Place all the stuffed onions and capsicum
Between the masala...
Put over lid, and cook for 20 min on lower flame. Check in between and place upside down for 5 more min. And put of the flame. Garnish with finely chopped coriander.
Serve hot with Rotis/chapatis or rice bhakris
