Kulith Pithale/Horsegram curry
Maharashtrian curry type ...speciality dish from rural areas... it's monsoon and winter seasons delicacy...very effective on cold and cough.Goes well with Rice..jowar bhakris (types of indian breads).. and fried fishes.It's very healthy and nutritious for all are groups.
Ingredients
1/2 cup Kulith flour/powder Or 3 tbsp
1 Small onion finely chopped
1/2 red chilli powder
1/2 turmeric powder
2-3 kokam petals
Pinch of gul/jaggery
Salt as per the taste
3 cups water or more as per requirement
For tempering
1/2 fine red mustard seeds
3-4 curry leaves
3-4 Garlic cloves
1 green chilli
Pinch of hing
1 Tbs oil
Finely chopped corriander for garnishing&
1 tbsp Fresh scrapped coconut
Method:-
Take a bowl add all the above ingredients except tempering n Garnishing..crush the chopped onion properly ...n rest for 5 min
Now heat oil in a pan and prepare tempering ..
When mustard seeds starts crackling add kulith pithi into this ..add salt as per the taste ..and close the pan with the lid ...lower the flame.
Remove the lid...once it starts boiling ..and reached as per the desired consistency..put off the flame...
Garnish with coconut n corriander.. serve hot.
It goes well with both Veg or Non veg menus...but I love it with fried fish or dried fish kismoor
