Dates cake/khajurache dhonas (Goan traditional cake)

Khajurache Dhonas/(one of the traditional  Goan cake).
Traditional and indianised version of cake by Portuguese in Goa, since they were known as Best Bakers of the world. This is a traditional and seasonal dish in Goa. Normally the "rasal" variety of jackfruit is used as it gives better texture n flavour....This is the varition of this recipe, instead of jackfruit pulp I have used Dates pulp. .Kids juzz love this cake ..and so mine☺...here's the recipe

Ingredients:
2 cups dates pulp
1 cup grated coconut
Salt as per the taste or 1/2 tsp
1 cup rawa/semolina
2tbsp homemade ghee
1 cup jaggery
2 tsp cardamon powder
5 chopped cashewnuts
5 chopped almonds raisins (optional)

Method:-

1) Deseed  approx 25-30 dates (this is my measurement)and soak dates in warm water for 10-15 min.
2) Meanwhile roast the rawa till it is light brown or till aroma wafts into the air. Keep aside. Let it cool for half an hour.
3) Now put the dates into a mixer adding lil warm water graduallyand make  thick pulp out of it.
4)preheat oven @180for 10 min.
5)Mix all the  ingredients  mentioned above .grease the flat  baking tray with ghee again and transfer  it into a baking dish.
6)Bake it @180for 30 min.
7)check with the knife of it comes out clean.if not set again for 5 more min.
8)Demould the  dhonas once cooled  and cut into your desired shapes.

Note:-It can also be steamed and then pan fried using ghee  on both the sides.. but I prefer to bake in oven
